In the UAE, Indian passport applications are handed in at BLS International centres (BLS International UAE: Indian passport, visa and consular services). Indian missions in the UAE moved to ICAO photos on 1 September 2025 (Gulf News: India's ICAO photo rule from 1 September 2025).
Indian passport photos follow the ICAO guidelines: colour, white background, face 80 to 85% of the frame, glasses off (passportindia.gov.in: Guidelines for ICAO compliant photographs). The Passport Seva upload is exactly 630×810 pixels, JPEG, under 250 KB (VFS Global: Passport Seva photo and signature upload instructions (Nov 2025)). The Consulate General in Dubai asks for a 51×51 mm colour print with a white background, stuck on the printed form at the BLS centre (Consulate General of India, Dubai: applying for a passport). Indian missions in the UAE moved to ICAO photos on 1 September 2025; reports give 630×810 pixels for the digital photo and 2×2 inches if printed (Gulf News: India's ICAO photo rule from 1 September 2025), so check the photo line on your centre's checklist.
