Renew or get a passport: step by step
From the expiry check to submitting. Open the guide in Picproved to tick off each step and go straight to the tool that does it.
Check your dates. Many countries want at least 6 months left on your passport when you arrive, and renewals can take weeks. Add everyone's expiry dates to get reminders.
Make the photo. Stand in front of a plain light wall, facing a window. The live camera tells you when the framing is right, then the photo is cut to the exact size.
Check it before you submit. Have a photo from a studio already? Run it through the checker to catch problems before the office does.
Scan your supporting documents. Old passport pages, ID and proof of address go into one PDF under the portal's size limit.
Apply on the official website. Upload the photo, or print it on a 4×6 in (10×15 cm) sheet at any photo shop. Only use the government's own website or office.
Set a reminder for the new passport. Add the new expiry date to get a calendar reminder about 9 months before it runs out.
