Photo rejected by the form for file size or pixels? How to fix it

Photo rejected by the form for file size or pixels: how to fix it

What the rules say

Online forms reject files outside their limits before a person sees them. The US visa form wants a square photo of at least 600×600 pixels and no more than 240 KB (travel.state.gov: Visa photo requirements); the UK online passport wants at least 600×750 pixels (GOV.UK: Rules for digital passport photos).

How to fix it

  1. Find your form's limits: pixels, KB and file type (usually JPEG).
  2. Resize and compress the photo to fit, without stretching it out of shape.

What Picproved checks

Picproved saves each document at its size and inside its KB limit. For any other limit, the free Resize a photo tool fits a file to the pixels and KB you type. Your photo stays on your device.

Or make it at home. Picproved costs $7.99 (free while we launch) for one person's photo in every size you need, and it checks the size, background, head size and face rules before you save. The office still makes the final decision. Make your United States Visa (DS-160) photo
