How to make the CDS files, step by step

Photo: a recent colour photo on a white background, with your face filling most of the frame. UPSC's photo instructions sit under Instructions and FAQs on upsconline.nic.in: Instructions and FAQs: JPG, 20 to 200 KB.

Live photo: the form also takes a photo with your camera while you fill it in, and it must match the uploaded one (UPSC CDS (II) 2026 notice, Notes 2 and 3).

Signature: sign three times, one below the other, on plain white paper in black ink, and upload all three as one image of 20 to 100 KB (UPSC CDS (II) 2026 notice, Notes 2 and 3).

UPSC's calendar lists the CDS (I) 2027 notice for 2 December 2026 (UPSC programme of examinations 2027).
