RRB's 2026 notices take a live photo with your webcam or phone while you apply, so there is no photo file to upload. Never photograph an old photo: RRB rejects it. The signature is the only image you upload.

Note on the sources: Older RRB notices used other limits. Check your notice.

How to make the RRB files, step by step

Take the live photo in the form itself: good light, a plain background, the camera at eye level, your face inside the box, no cap, mask or glasses. Never photograph an old photo: RRB rejects the form (RRB CEN 04/2026, paras 14.4 and 14.5.1).

Signature: sign in running handwriting in black ink on white paper inside a 35 × 20 mm box. Block or capital letters are rejected (RRB CEN 04/2026, paras 14.4 and 14.5.1).

Scan it at 100 dpi or more and save a JPG of 30 to 49 KB, at least 140 × 60 px. A file under 30 KB fails as well as one over 49 KB (RRB CEN 04/2026, paras 14.4 and 14.5.1).

Each step was read on the official notice it links to on 4 November 2026.

Official notice: RRB CEN 04/2026, paras 14.4 and 14.5.1. Always follow the notice for your exam, as sizes can change between years. Rules last checked Oct 2026.

Your signature can also be cleaned to white and sized from a photo of the paper.
