SSC GD takes your photo live while you apply, so the signature is the only file you make. Look the same on exam day as in the live photo.

Note on the sources: The CAPF and Hindi Translator notices say about 4×2 cm. Check your notice.

How to make the SSC GD files, step by step

Take the live photo in the form itself: good light, a plain background, the camera at eye level, your face inside the box, no cap, mask or glasses. Never photograph an old photo: SSC rejects the form (SSC Constable (GD) 2026 notice, para 8.6).

Sign on white paper in black ink, about 6 cm wide and 2 cm tall, horizontally, and save it as a JPEG of 10 to 20 KB. The GD notice asks for 300 dpi and says the main reason signatures are rejected is that they are too small (SSC Constable (GD) 2026 notice, para 8.6).

Each step was read on the official notice it links to on 4 November 2026.

Official notice: SSC Constable (GD) 2026 notice. Always follow the notice for your exam, as sizes can change between years. Rules last checked Oct 2026.

Your signature can also be cleaned to white and sized from a photo of the paper.
