Do Photo-Me booths do passport photos? Price and digital code
Do Photo-Me booths do passport photos?
Yes. Photo-Me booths print passport photos, and booths with its digital ID service also print a code for a UK passport application online. Photo-Me's FAQ says not every booth offers the code yet and gives a free number, 0800 035 6600, to find one that does. The digital service is for UK passports only: Photo-Me can't give you the image file for anything else, and its UK code doesn't work for an Irish passport (Photo-Me: ID photo FAQ). Photo-Me's website doesn't give a current UK price, so read the booth's screen.

Or make it at home. Picproved costs £5.99 (free while we launch) for one person's photo in every size you need, and it checks the size, background, head size and face rules before you save. The office still makes the final decision. Make your United Kingdom Passport (online) photo

Does every Photo-Me booth give a digital passport code?
No. Photo-Me says not every booth offers its digital ID service yet. Its free customer line, 0800 035 6600, can tell you which booths near you do.
Can I use a Photo-Me code for an Irish passport?
No. Photo-Me says its UK and Irish digital photo systems are separate, so the codes aren't interchangeable.
What if the booth doesn't give a code?
You can still apply online: GOV.UK lets you take the photo on your own device during the application instead of entering a code.
Can I take my own UK passport photo instead of going to Photo-Me booths?
Yes, for an online application. GOV.UK lets you take a digital photo yourself or ask someone to take it, as long as it follows the photo rules. For a paper form you need printed photos, and GOV.UK says photos printed at home are unlikely to be good enough, so print at a photo kiosk or shop.
What is a digital photo code?
A code that a booth or shop gives you with your photos. You type it into the GOV.UK online application and your photo is added to it. If you take the photo on your own device during the application instead, you don't need a code.
