Digital Check and Send (photo taken in branch, application checked and sent)
Prices as listed on each shop's own website, checked October 2026. Shops change them, so check before you go.
Or make it at home. Picproved costs £5.99 (free while we launch) for one person's photo in every size you need, and it checks the size, background, head size and face rules before you save. The office still makes the final decision. Make your United Kingdom Passport (online) photo

Can I get just a passport photo at the Post Office?
The Post Office lists its photo as part of Check and Send, not on its own. If you only need the photo, take it yourself and upload it to GOV.UK, or use a booth.
Can I take my own UK passport photo instead of going to Post Office?
Yes, for an online application. GOV.UK lets you take a digital photo yourself or ask someone to take it, as long as it follows the photo rules. For a paper form you need printed photos, and GOV.UK says photos printed at home are unlikely to be good enough, so print at a photo kiosk or shop.
What is a digital photo code?
A code that a booth or shop gives you with your photos. You type it into the GOV.UK online application and your photo is added to it. If you take the photo on your own device during the application instead, you don't need a code.
