50×50 mm photo: which documents use it and how to make one

50×50 mm photo

50×50 mm (5×5 cm) is the size for Kenyan passports and Chilean visas. It is close to, but not the same as, 2×2 inches (51×51 mm), the US passport and visa size that Indian OCI forms also use. If a US or Indian form says 5×5 cm, it means the 2×2 inch photo (see the 2×2 inch page below). Also written as 5×5 cm.

Sources marked "not official" are the best we found where the government publishes no values; each document's page says which values sources disagree on. Rules last checked October 2026.

Or make it at home. Picproved costs £5.99 (free while we launch) for one person's photo in every size you need, and it checks the size, background, head size and face rules before you save. The office still makes the final decision. Make your Kenya Passport photo
