Thailand visa photo for Indians: is one needed in 2026?

Short answer: not for a short holiday. From 15 September 2026, Indian passport holders can visit Thailand for tourism for up to 30 days without a visa (Royal Thai Embassy, New Delhi: 30-day visa exemption from 15 September 2026). For a longer stay or another purpose you apply for a Thai e-Visa online and upload a photo (Royal Thai Embassy, New Delhi: visa).

How it works from India

  1. For tourism up to 30 days, no visa and no visa photo are needed (Royal Thai Embassy, New Delhi: 30-day visa exemption from 15 September 2026).
  2. For a longer stay, business or study, apply on the Thai e-Visa website and upload your photo with the application (Thai e-Visa official website).
  3. Fees and visa types for applicants in India are listed by the Royal Thai Embassy, New Delhi (Royal Thai Embassy, New Delhi: visa).

Or make it at home. Picproved costs ₹199 for 3 photos (free while we launch) for one person's photo in every size you need, and it checks the size, background, head size and face rules before you save. The office still makes the final decision. Make your Thailand e-Visa photo
