This notice explains what Picproved does with your information. The short answer: your photos never leave your device.

The short version

All photo checks, edits and cut-outs run on your device. Your photos, signatures, scans and family records are never uploaded. The only server we run is for payments: it never receives photos and holds no names, email addresses or card details. There are no accounts, ads or tracking. The website counts visits without cookies and without knowing who you are.

Who we are

Picproved is run by Dorin D Souza, a sole trader in the United Kingdom trading as Picproved. Under UK data protection law we are the controller of the small amount of personal data described here. Contact: support@picproved.com.

What happens on your device

The camera is used only while the camera screen is open. Frames are analysed on your device to guide you, then discarded. Photos you choose are read inside the app. Face, background and quality checks use models that run on your device. When you replace the background, the app loads a larger cut-out model (about 16 MB) once from our own website and keeps it in the browser's cache; in the Android app it is built in. Voice tips use your device's own speech engine.

What is stored on your device

Your settings, country, language, family records and checklist ticks are kept in this browser's local storage, or in the app's storage on Android. If My photos is on, copies of the photos you save are kept in the browser's database. The app's own files are cached so it works offline. If you buy credits, your order keys and invite code are kept here too, so write down your order ID. Delete all in My photos, or clearing the site's data or the app's storage, removes everything. We can't see or recover any of it.

The photo you are working on, and the changes you made to it, are kept in the browser's database so a reload or a closed tab doesn't lose it. It is deleted after 7 days, or at once with Remove photo. A photo you paid for is also kept while it still saves free (24 hours), so you can save it again from Orders.

Cookies

Picproved sets no cookies. The device storage above is needed for the app to work, so we don't ask for consent to it. When you pay on the website, Paddle's checkout may set its own cookies, which it needs to take the payment and prevent fraud; Paddle's privacy notice explains them.

Counting visits

On the website we count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, so we know which pages help people. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and doesn't follow you to other sites. For each page it records the page address, the site that sent you, your country, and your browser and device type. Cloudflare doesn't use your IP address to identify you. It never sees your photos. The Android app counts nothing. We do this in our legitimate interest in improving the website.

What our payment server keeps

When you buy credits, our server keeps: the order ID; the document type (for example UK passport); the pack, price, currency and any discount; the time you ticked the consent box; the Paddle transaction ID or Google Play purchase token; how many photos were saved with the order and when; and any redo key with support's short note. It never receives photos or card details, and never stores names or email addresses. Your IP address is used for a moment to block abuse and is not stored by us. These records are deleted automatically 2 years after the order was last used.

When you email support

If you email support@picproved.com, we receive your email address and what you send, such as an order ID or proof that a photo was rejected. Please cover any personal details on the proof that we don't need. We use it only to answer you, keep it for up to 2 years, then delete it.

Emails we send you

If you tick the follow-up box when you pay on the website, our server asks Paddle for your email address 3 days later, sends you one email through Brevo to check the office accepted your photo (with the free redo link), and then forgets the address. Leave the box empty if you'd rather not. We send no newsletters or adverts. If you email support, you get one automatic reply with the most common answers. We do this to make sure what you bought worked (our legitimate interests).

The chat helper

The website's chat helper is the only feature that sends what you type off your device. Your messages go through our server to Anthropic, who make the AI that writes the reply, only to answer you. We don't store the chat or log what you type, and the chat can't receive photos. Please don't type personal details. Email us opens your own email app with the chat filled in, so you choose whether to send it to support.

Other companies involved

We never sell your data or share it for advertising. These companies handle data for us, or as sellers in their own right:

Why we may use it

We use order records to deliver what you bought (our contract with you), and to prevent fraud and answer support requests (our legitimate interests). Paddle and Google keep payment and tax records because the law requires it.

Data outside the UK

Some of these companies process data outside the UK, for example in the EU or the United States. When they do, they use safeguards recognised under UK law, such as adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit or object to how we use it, or get a copy. Email support@picproved.com with your order ID, because we hold nothing else that links a record to you. We reply within one month. For data that Paddle or Google hold, contact them too. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).

Children

There are no accounts, so we collect nothing about a child. Parents can make photos of their children, helped by Child mode and Baby mode; these photos stay on the parent's device like any other. Purchases must be made by an adult, or with a parent's permission.
